Please help, I replaced the clutch on my new Fiat Punto 1.2 2005 Model and almost straight away I can get it to slip if I don't drive really carefully, yes I admit I used a cheap clutch, I guess it's never totally engaging and needs some adjustment on the slave cylinder? Is this even officially possible?

Almost tempted to slacken the gearbox off and run a washers between box and engine lol

Either your new clutch is bad, or you have some oil leaking.
As far as I know, it's not possible to adjust the hydraulic clutch.

I don't think bleeding it will help as surely once you release your foot, the slave cylinder will return all the way, bleeding would be for a situation where you couldn't fully disengage the clutch surely?

Good point I'm not sure how these things work just can't image a new clutch slipping straight away unless, as pointed out it has oil on the lining. Perhaps just greasy marks on it from fitting it? Another thought is perhaps an incorrect (or incorrectly fitted) release bearing

I thought about that. I have my old clutch here. Is it really possible to do this on a fiat punto? There would be just so much sticking out where is should not that to me it seemed impossible

. Very easy to put the clutch plate in the wrong way round, once you put it up to the fly wheel with a centring tool in place the you can’t see what’s going on. A common side effect of putting the plate in the wrong way is a slipping clutch as it then usually only makes proper contact on one side
