Thank guys managed to do timing belt and water pump on my new old fiat punto. changed all oils and filters. and soaked the underside of the car with oil to sort the rust.

just one problem mypunto eleganza 1.9 2005 air bag light comes on. Checked it with a icarsoft i905 scanner and have the following OxOE drivers side airbag squib. STC Status : value too high. Please help. i have cleaned connectors under passanger seat. the icar i905 will not reset the fault.

The clue was in the code, drivers side airbag meaning the steering wheel, otherwise it would have said seat.

If that is a resistance too high it could be that the ribbon cable in the steering wheel has broken a wire somewhere.
