Hi guys,
I've owned my Fiat Punto 1.9 HGT (2004) for just over a year now and i cannot find any handbooks or information about it online. I was just wondering if anyone else owns this car and knows anything about. It makes it tricky to do any work in the engine bay when i don't have a Haynes manual or something!

Thank you in advance!

Fiat Stilo 1.8 16v has the same engine with only newer revision varistor so parts are cheap and easy to find. What do you need?

No it doesn’t.

The punto 1.9 HGT was a multijet Diesel and not he 1.8 petrol engines found in other cars.

Realistically there is not a huge amount to do on it diy

Oil filter is the usual screw on canister type, the fuel filter is the same as the 1.3 multijet and covered in a video I did on YouTube. No spark plugs, air filter is a cylindrical thing with a very fragile pipe to it. Anything more than that is major surgery and will require almost half the engine to be removed to do anything.

There is no Haynes manual for the HGT because it was a bit of a one off. An 8V engine with a bigger turbo, completely different gearbox and many specific custom parts. Including a multijet fuel rail and injection system not previously used on that engine.

When they started fitting the 1.9 to the grande they gave it another 8valves taking it up to 16

That’s fair not to know, there are not many about only about 150 where ever sold in the U.K. making them less common than most supercars.

Occasionally see one turn up but a few years ago you’d seen 3 or 4 for sale, these days you’re lucky to find one.

Cheers for the help, i did not realise they are quite rare! Maybe i'll try and keep the mileage low and sell it on in future

Rare but rare because they where not popular, also a diesel and not really much different from other puntos of that era, I’d not hold your breath that it’s going to gain any value any time soon.
