Hi
I have just installed a bog standard aftermarket radio/CD into the Punto, wiring everything seemingly correctly together, and it works fine... for a few seconds. Or at least till I turn on the engine. And then the speakers cut out regularly every 2 secs. Is this a protection issue on the part of the radio? If so, what's going on?
Do i need to put in an online fuse on such a low-fi system? And could that be the issue? Earthing?
Trawled the web and cannot find this issue exactly so any ideas appreciated
Thanks

Sounds like the aftermarket radio's duff

If the speakers worked FINE before the swap it means the speakers and wirings fine

Only when the New HU was fitted, it points to the new HU having issues not the stuff already in the car

However it never hurts to check the connections on the back of the stereo and wiring to ensure you haven't trapped or earthing anything by accident
Ensure the speakers connection are clean and dry too!

Just be careful pulling the speakers covers off - SOOOO easy to break...

Ziggy
