Hi
on my mothers car air bag light stays on have checked on ecumultiscan and came up with

02 ecu supply voltage value to low intermittent code 234
01 control unit fault intermittent code 248

have checked and cleaned all positive and earth leads in engine compartment

check and cleaned air bag ecu and i did wait 30 mins before touching

if anyone could help would be great i could take bulb out but i would rather fix now

thanks

brian

What happens when you clear the codes and let the car go through a self test again (ignition off then on)

Are both faults present straight away again

the low voltage - i suspect is a weak battery and cranking is making the A.bag ecu to freak out and lock down to prevent damage/issues

Control unit fault - is saying the airbag ecu is at fault, but not sure tbh

Is car battery all good?

airbag ecu will lock out if not and perhaps not let you clear it as its seeing a low supply voltage, this normaly causes a gremlin or two with other parts too

eg steering motor, so make sure battery is good, (y)

You need the registered version, and the correct adaptor leads.

he has the codes so i would assume he has the leads

sometimes multiecuscan wont clear the airbag ecu because its been corrupted there are ways of cleaning it with a hex tool but its much simpler to just change the box for a good used one

i need to repeat here due caution with regards airbags needs to be heeded because someone on here decided its all baloney and they dont injure you a few weeks back

thanks all it was airbag ecu borrowed one of my wifes car and found it to be that was the issue trip to the scrapyard tommorrow

thanks
