Hi i am looking to fit a tow bar to my mrs 2002 punto elx 8v just mainly for a bike rack for my crosser and wondering if anyone on here has fitting one to a punto just for a general idea of how hard or ocward it is and does exhaust have to be moved out of the way ect. Thanks

Best bet is to contact somewhere/someone like Witter. They'll have the full kit, all the instructions, etc. There may be something in the Owner Manual, too.

You can't make these up (or fit them) as you go along: few things can be more lethal than a tow bar loosing its load.

Haynes manual covers the fitting of a witter towbar

yes the exhaust bracket has to be dropped as it does fit between it all

you could go get one from a scrappy, you learn how to fit it when removing it, then just buy new electrics

Yeah i actually saw one on ebay item number 271099429882 was a really good price and looks like has everything needed ?? Guy does have a few bad feedback but so do most who sell quite a lot

I've purchased from him and had no issues

Does that mean sporting punto and active sports cant have a towbar purly because of the bumper.....

Thats somewhat annoying....

Nice and easy, certainly in comparison to another type of towbar I'd previously fitted to my Stilo.

tow bar fitting,

look in boot floor, you will see painted style protective tape.
press on it and it will reveal 2 oval holes per side,
this is where you drop in the special square lockers,

look in corner,drivers side rear, you will see gromit. (wheres wallace?)

anyhow this is where you feed up wiring from towbar into lights,

remove bumper,

lower exhaust back box, no need to remove, but support it, dont bother with rubber exhaust mount just undue 13mm bolt and lower bracket down this has two plastic locaters,

westbeef a member on here had one fitted to active sport or was it sporting
not sure but it was one or the other,
bumper was cut, /modified

Yeah i seen that bumpers with foam inserts will need moding , i do not know if hers has foam inside the bumpet because i havent had it off hopefully not tho
