Hi All, I am new to the site and would like to introduce myself and if anyone could help me with my problem i would be most appreciated.

I have a fiat punto active sport 06 reg, My engine warning light keeps coming on and flashing when doing 70 plus speeds then when im doing less then that it stops it has been doing this for a while now. My head gasket recently blown up aswell and i thought it had something to do with that, The pressure or something ?. But obviously not because its still doing it after i had the gasket replaced and skimmed. I also had timing belt and water pump changed aswell. So after it did it again once the head gasket etc was replaced, I thought it could of been because it hasn't been serviced properly because i had only had the car for short time and the service book was hardly stamped. So i had a full service plus mot and once i got the car back it did the exactly same thing :bang:.

ps. ive only had the car 7 months and all these problems have occured for me grrr (n)

Somebody please help me i would be most appreciated :)

Regards

Martin

The warning light is telling you that something is wrong. Go get the codes read: it may be illuminating (pun intended).

Head gaskets seldom go for the fun of it. Reasons they do go include: garagistas saying they've skimmed the head when they have not, leaks, bad thermostats, failure to bleed the cooling system properly, faulty radiator fan.

Until you find why the heads gasket went, it'll keep on going.

Thats the thing i took it to the garage and they used the computer to check the codes and it wasnt showing on there :s

I got the same issue after changing my Head gasket, the check engine light flashes if I maintain speeds above 70. I read the code and it says it is a misfire(as expected..) in one of the cylinders so I put it down to a funny injector but have not felt a need to take any action to replace it yet?

Injectors are seldom that funny!

If you know which cylinder is missing, swap the injector for that cylinder with another. Does the misfire follow the injector?

a misfire code is only a pointer like a milestone road pointer showing the monks to the next village
it could be anything from a faulty valve to bunged up plug

never swap injectors on the whim of what windows 98 says

go deep

as said
go to a garage that has something newer than 2 bean cans and some string to interogate your engine management system

Found out what it is, Had to get the guy to drive it out to get the error codes as was not showing as not saved. Turned out it is misfiring only small job which is good for me lol. Thanks for helping peps !
