I am planning on replacing my bumpy rear shocks on my 06 Punto active, can anyone point me towards any good online deals for shocks? Any advice gratefully received, how much should they set me back? I only want standard performance not lowering or anything fancy.
Thanks in advance guys.

My advice then if you doing the removal yourself

Start spraying the bottom bolt with a quality penatration fluid

I've had fun in past due to them been stupidly tight....
So much so - i snapped 2

Take your time as well - if a bolt is moving but is tight - remember to go forwards and backwards to clean the threads as it pulls through - can help prevent snapping and all that shiz

Just a quick question, when I swap the rear shocks does everyone use a torque wrench or would just giving them a good tighten suffice? Or if I borrow a wrench what setting will they need?
Thanks in advance guys ;-)

take your time undoing old bolts as they seize in
top one you can squirt from inside the other side of chassis leg
lower one you oil through the axle hole
be warned the lower bolt may cause you problems ,i prefer to windy gun these off so heat generated keeps the bolt coming out

The impacting tho does help ALOT when it comes to it

I think mine were seized solid - what movement i was getting was me physically twisting the weakened metal.... till - Crack - *puched floor* - Ahhh ****....

cleaning any rust off does also help :) But i suspect windy gun does that also as it works out

its always worked for me, that or the blow torch,

Rubber mallet is ok to strike steel tools that are not designed to be struck with other steel tools, such as normal spanners. Plus, it's quite satisfying...

but achieves nothing:confused:

i have 3 rubber hammers
my favourite ive had 26 years
cant understand why i bought others to be honest

Striking your hand on a tool to make a "poor mans impact" has health repercussions tho

Repetitive slamming can cause nerve damage, which could cause constant pain or constant numbness

Rubber mallet on a steel tool is new to me - but tbh, im not a hardened mechanic yet
There is possibly a good chance i will join that boat very shortly tho, which is looking like a ford dealership :|
