Hi I have a punto mk2 year 2003 I no nothing about exhaust systems I do have quiet a large back box and it sounds nice but I want it to be louder my mate said I should get a straight through system what does he mean? I want my car to sound like meatier if u like what is the nicest sounding exhaust system I should get

He means take the Catalytic converter out of the front and replace it with normal piping so there is no silencers what-so-ever, assuming your centre pipe does not have a silencer too.

Don't bother, if you do you might as well spray down the side of your car that VOSA suck arse and the POLICE are all *****!!!, you will get pulled almost constantly. plus your insurance company will most probably tell you to get lost as its now an Illegal mod and if you don't declare it and you have a crash they will void your insurance which then means the police will then be involved and send you to court to take away your licence and all your money, then on top of that your resposable for all the damage caused in the crash.

word of advice, Don't do it, leave it how it is.

Besides that ithink you will just loose power,
& theres not many horses in a punto to start with,

& punto will no longer get you around on that tenners worth of fuel as it did,

if its 8v it already has no centre box to start with so bigger box on back is all you need if you want noise,

to be honest if you need it to be more meaty why not stick some shoshiggers up the tailpipe

No cat = Mot failure
No cat = EML light as the post cat will see same as pre cat and see cat inefficiency errors
8v's have a centre pipe away
8'v need the current setup to actually generate exhaust pressure, remove that pressure and the scavenging on valve overlap will be poo = Less power = More fuel used

Oh and a fart box on the 8v is pointless.... it just says look at my small *****
