Good day fellow forum users,

I have a 2004 punto mk2b hgt. Had a series of electrical faults now that seem to be recurring. I have just had crank shaft sensor and cam shaft sensor replaced after an oscilloscope test showed them to be faulting.

However. Now, the car is reluctant to start when it has been sat for a night, or even a few hours. It turns over more times than usual and sometimes needs a foot-full on the throttle to get it started. After this the revs drop quickly and the car stalls.

I need to pump the throttle to keep the revs above 1000rpm or I've lost her. After some driving, a nice idol is restored and she purrs away no problem.

Often, coming up to a junction the revs drop drastically and she'll cut out again on me and be slow to start.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be please?

I really am at my wits end after much money being spent on diagnostic testing and labour.

Sam.

It turns over normally with no lumpiness or excessive noise.

No warning lights come on either. It will fire with some help from the throttle. Just struggles to keep the revs up.
