I have just got a fiat punto 2004 1.2 petrol car and randomly the fuel injection warning light flashes for 10-15 seconds then goes off. it normally happens after long journeys. I checked the handbook and it states that its not a problem if it just flashes then goes off, but im still worried.

Should I be concerned or is everything okay? Ive never had this problem with any other cars and I am complete newbie with it all so any advice or tips would be fab!.

ALSO - car doesnt drive any differently when it flashes on that i have noticed

By substitution as it's an intermittent fault. OTTOMH, leads are cheapest, followed by plugs, followed by coil.

There's a big gap to the next item -- the manicat.

have you seen it then?
this would cause all kinds of issues as well:p

siansian91 if your car hasnt been regularly serviced then its quite possible its still on factory ht leads and plugs so treat these to a change as everyone has pointed out rather than saving a penny to spend a pound on a blown ecu next week:)

be careful with plug 3rd from left as its easy to crossthread it on replacement (dont ask)
