iam wondering if i got a 1.2 75BHP 8v and removed the and replaced it with the 1.2 16v (and a 16v timing belt) would thier be any 16v fiat engines with better cams to b put in the 16v punto head

Would your ecu work with the 16v though or would you need that aswell as it may have different sensors on like the mk2 putno 1.2 8v has a sensor on the cam drive where as the punto 75 doesnt!

i was hopin to use the mk1 head does that hav a sensor and if it does wot is it for

i know but with it been 16v it might have different sensors to your head now and it will lead to the engine management light been on all the time! have you got a parts cd your best comparing on there

Erm, not all MK2 8v punto have a cam sensor, mine does not have for example.

The cam sensor is used to know the position of the valves and the respective cylinder position, but it can be done with the crank sensor and a fixed ecu map.
