Ok I bought my son a Hawk HA-280 pro alarm/central locking kit.
It looks as though the previous owner had tried to install a similar kit and failed, there is no locks in the doors to lock the car they have been blanked so there is no way to lock/unlock the car apart from unlock the boot with the key and reach in and open the lock.
Anyway I gave my son the alarm and he passed it back saying I cant fit that!
Ive made a start and got most of it wired, I'm stuck at wiring the power wires in.The wires behind the ignition barrel are as follows.

3 pin plug.
Orange
Red
Brown

4 pin plug.
Dark blue
Yellow
Blue + Red
Light Blue

I dont know which wire to connect now and I dont want to guess for obvious reasons.Any help with which wire carries +12 permanent, switched etc or even better if you can tell me where to connect which wires from the alarm system wiring to which wire at the ignition barrel would be fantastic.Any help at all will be much appreciated.
Attached is the wiring instructions for the power part of the system

Thanks

Tim

Forgot to say its a 2002 1.2 8 valve Punto.

was that for the central locking kit by Hawk? if so its not the same...
I did search the forum for help about the barrel wires before I posted this, maybe I didnt put the right terms in the search?

Looking at the installation guide for that alarm system the first part of the document gives pretty comprehensive instructions on how to find supplies for the main power wires, Seems to me you just need to invest £5-10 in a cheap multi meter which you should at least have if embarking on this sort of project.

That said a quick search found me this thread https://www.fiatforum.com/punto/67298-fiat-punto-service-repair-manual-download-3.html which gives links to workshop manuals to download, should have some wiring diagrams for the ignition system, remember these diagrams are only a guide and wiring colours can and do change pretty often, these are quite often pretty high current wires so if you're not sure what you are doing then please don't start chopping things about and adding wires in, the current in these wires will easily turn your hawk alarm into smoke if connected wrong.
please invest in a meter and do this properly

Your best bet is to invest in a multimeter and follow the fitting instructions to a T or else give it to an auto electrician to finish the job.

Ofcourse Andy your right multimeter on the job should get it sorted now.
Thanks very much.
