I have a Fiat Punto mk2 that is having some intermittent ignition problems. While checking the wires for potential short-circuits it came to my attention that the wire going from the negative terminal of the ignition coil is grounded while the the wire going from the positive terminal goes to the ECU.
I always thought that the positive terminal of the ignition coils in cars is powered to 12V while the negative terminal is controlled by the ECU.
Am I wrong or is it different on the Punto mk2 ?
