General Smoking

Loss of compression could cause it, ecu compensating by added more fuel - running richer for added power? I recommend doing a compression test(y)

Oil smoke when you floor = worn piston rings & when you back off = valve stem seals.

But steam in cold weather is simply the extra water created by burning more petrol.

The other cause of "smoke" is a blown HG.

just had the engine serviced, new cylinder head (skimmed), headgasket, timing belt, water pump, radiator, exhaust, coilpack cleaned the air intake and port and polished the valves and cylinders about 2 months ago.
its not losing oil or water heater works fine, no milky oil cap. i think i need to replace the sump gasket because of a minor leak.

I presume the smoking has stopped, and the sump leak is a different issue?
