Hi guys,

I have been reading posts on this forum for the past year and thought it was about time I registered.

I am looking to replace the drivers side wing mirror cover on my 53 mk2b punto but have been unable to find any suitable guides apart from one for the grande punto. The wing mirror itself is not a problem as I know how to replace this, but I have got no idea how to remove the exterior cap/cover.

Any help would be great!!!

hi there as far as i know you cannot remove it and its one piece,on the grande punto they will come apart but on the mk2b i think you have to replace the whole unit

The thing is I was told by a fiat dealer that the caps/covers can be removed?!?!
There is also lots of mk2 primed covers being sold on ebay which suggests that they can be replaced.....

Hi,
As far as i know you cant take it apart... but you can take it off to respray them, replace them etc, the covers, i think, are the rubber bits inside (to move the mirror around) and the outside (where the case attaches to the car).

Thanks for the reply all. Still getting different information from various contacts that work in garages who claim the cover can be removed. Unfortunately cannot get any 'mates rates' and I am reluctant to pay what is being quoted.
