I'll back Arc up on this one.
Ecotec mistakenly started saying that Clubcento endorsed the use of the ecotec valve on their website and forum, I took issue with this as we bloody well don't - for reasons the ecotec guy agreed with.
On an SPI cinq, sei or Punto 55 / 60 the brake servo tapping is directly above the intake to no4 cylinder on the intake manifold. I forwarded ecotec a photograph and their response (off the forum, oddly....) was that in a position such as this which wasn't central then don't fit one. The ecotec needs to be in a place where the distribution of air from it is spread evenly across all 4 cylinders:
wolfrace, the mpi looks to be ok in this instance, it's the spi ones that are a problem
You could fit one to a SPI fire engine, but as mentioned previously you should do something along the lines of drill and tap (off the car, naturally) the plastic spacer under the throttle body or the intake manifold to fit it.
I'm a born cynic mind, and to me what the thing does is to add more air when you're at part throttle - which the lambda sensor should compensate for, incidentally putting you back at square one - so I wouldn't buy one for mine. There's a few websites out there explaining in technical detail when and where the ecotec works and what it does, a scientific mind says it's all a load of poo.
