My tail lights were busted when i bought my 1.9d w reg punto, got them re wired last week and a few days later the rain poored and the fuse board got wet and startin smokin!
My hubby has taken it out and his mate says we need to get a new ecu and board which means new locks/barrels etc unless i can find a second hand set.
There are a few on ebay and local breakers but no one seems to know if the only diesel ones i can find for the 1.9 jtd will fit/work right in mine?
Does anyone know? People are telling me different things so any help would be a start!!!!

Could this fault be related to the lights being busted in the first place? Worried if i change the ecu it may be the lights that blow it?

yes if your from the great bridge area its a bonus there is a fiat breaker there and he will take it out replace it for pennys

Managed to pick up an ecu from a breakers, hooked it up but now i need to either disconnect the immobiliser or decode the old engine ecu so they work together!
Any ideas, as i have a diesel it was difficult to find a second hand ecu, so had to settle for the JTD instead of my very basic D, this has meant that even though i got all the bits from the scrappy, i couldnt use the engine ecu as the plug fittings are different!
It now powers up, turns over but definatly is blocked at the immobiliser.
Some people are telling me to disconnect it, some are saying get it decoded. Any idea which way is best and the costs attached????
