Hi guys, on my 55 1.1, the cylinders kinda look less carbonised starting from #4. #1 i cleaned off with some cloth and it wiped shiny, as it had ALOT of petrol on it too. i came accross this concern when the cylinder #1 spark plug was drenched in petrol when checking it out.
i'm replacing the head gasket right now, it was steam rolled onto the head and block, LOL! what a nightmare to clean..... cooling system was deaded. fixed cooling now though, i think with new thermostat.

Any ideas? valve timing or new coils/cables??

i can't really follow what you're on about.

Did it blow it's head gasket, and now the head is off and you're looking at the pistons?

Or have you done the job, and it's not running right now?

you can't 'flood' a fuel injected car like you can one with a carb. if the plugs are wet when you remove them there is a problem.

have you checked for a spark on all cylinders. is the timing correct. do you have compression?

I thought it might of flooded as it was starting with no spark plugs, and the 1st spark was wet cos of that...

how do i check compression without compression testing tools?
i believe all cylinders do spark as there's no mis fires and runs very smoothly

I'll get a compression kit soon, do you think first cylinder timing is wrong? i get a hiss sound when the cylinder comes up when i turn by hand.
timing belt is right though, maybe shims are worn or something
