Hi, Im not sure if anyone can help me but i thought it would be worth a try. The ECU has gone on the car, I am trying to buy 1 online but I need the part number & when the mechanic pulled the old ecu out there wasnt a number on it!! Would anyone happen to know the part number I need??
I have got a 2001 punto (Y reg). Its a 1.2 8v Mk2.

you will need more then just the ecu..

ecu, keys, locks and codebox since fiat has an immobilizer..

not sure which is which but one is the mk1 ecu and the other is the mk2
Fiat Punto 1.2 8V (IAW 8F.5T)
Fiat Punto 1.2 8V (IAW 16F.E3)

best place to find out is on websites offering remaps.. i still think the ecu had numbers on it..
 
i dont think that is all true.you would only need new keys,codebox,locks if you bouht a second hand unit.if you buy the reconditioned ones or new then they are more or less plug and play no need for recodeing as the car will learn it self.by using the phonic learn.hope that helps.
