I thought the battery was dead in my key but after having replaced it, it turns out my alarm won't activate. Anyone know why that is. Just before i bought it the salesman said the battery had been weak. Not died on me yet but could it be a reason why ?

Have you inserted the battery correctly? Did it work previously?

What happens when you press the button on the key, does the red led flash? And do the doors lock/un-lock? Its more likely to be a problem with the key rather than the alarm.

Both keys button flashed red like it says it should in the manual.

Does the doors lock/unlock? If not check fuse F38 located in the dash fuse box.

Does the car unlock/lock with indicators flashing and just make no sound when pressing the button?

My battery died over winter (stood for a few days), this problem happened (no beeping), it died again a month or so later and started working again.
