ABOUT 10 MINTUTES AGO MY CAR UST BROKE DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, LUCKLEY I WAS NEAR WORK SO I PARKED IT UP AND CAME STRAIGHT ON HERE  BASICALLY MY ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS STUCK TO THE FLOOR, AN IT WONT RAISE UP, TRIED WITH MY HAND BUT STILL DIDNT WORK, WHEN I TURN THE ENGINE ON, THE CAR STARTS FOR LIKE A SECOND THEN JUST KONKS OUT, I LOOKED TO SEE IF IT WAS THE ACCELERATOR CABLE BUT THAT SEEMED TO BE FINE, THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A FUSE, BUT THERE ALL FINE AS WELL, ANYONE WITH ANY IDEAS TO WHAT THE PROBLEM MAY BE PLEASE??? BECAUSE I AM BAFFLED! AM NOT EVEN WITH THE AA OR ANYTHING SO I CANT RING THEM (n) SO IM UP THAT CREEK WITH NO PADLE!

THANKS

Youve probably sorted it by now but if not I would advise:

Get someone to move the pedal back and forth while you view the end of the throttle cable in the engine bay. (It attaches to cam shaped part on the side of the throttle body).
Does the cable move back and forth?

* If its not moving then the inner cable has either snapped or come off the pedal inside the car.

* If it is moving, its likely the problem is located near the before mentioned throttle body.
It could be that the retaining nut has come loose and the cable outer is now moving free. Or could be that the return spring has snapped.
