Any ideas on why my intermittant wiper stutters on the way back down? Can hear a clicking noise coming from under steering wheel (relay/fuse??) Any help would be most appreciated!!!! Rongo

its caused by bad contacts inside the wiper motor because of too much grease, its a well know fault.
it only takes 5 mins too do so alot of dealers would probly do it for free if your a regular customer, who knows? thats just what i would do.
too do it yourself pull the top off the wiper motor(5 t20 screws) and wipe most of the grease off the 2 contacts and clean the contacts surface.

My girlfriend's 2001 Punto has got the same problem. Absolutely fine when on constant wipe (or even on auto wipe after using the washer jets) but then on the downward stroke of intermittent wipe or on the last stroke of auto wipe it judders.

Shall give this a try too.

I have the same problem. I do that last Saturday. Now wipers run smooth!

i had that was about to fix it when the linkage snapped so had to get new one anyway

should really make the effort to sort mine as well.... juddering wipers.... du da, du da, du da !!! (thats the noise it makes) lol
