firstly, merry christmass when it comes to everyone..

got my timing belt done today in my mk2b sporting. when driving home i smelled a burning smell, i then opened the bonnet, and could smell it slightly stronger, but no smoke or flames :S?

is this a normal thing after getting a timing belt replaced ?

ive never had a burning smell after, check they put cover back right and its not rubbing on the belt

the smell could have nothing to do with the belt.. and maybe just a leak..

ive never smelt it before i got it done tho, where abouts is the cover then ? is that which is on the left hand side to the engine.?

Normally get a burning smell after I've raced around a bit, sometimes smells of oil...

Damn I really should get my car serviced. Christmas, no-one is doing it.
