Hi everyone, i am in the process of fitting some lowering springs to my mk2 1.2 8v, and just wondered if there is any specific torque setting for the front shock bolts, of is it just a case of do them up f***ing tight?

Thanks (y)

According to my Haynes manual the torque settings are as follows:

Front suspension

Suspension strut piston rod top nut................................ 60Nm or 44lbft
Suspension strut-to-swivel hub bolts.............................. 75Nm or 55lbft
Suspension strut upper mounting cup-to-piston rod nut...... 60Nm or 44lbft

According to my Haynes manual
Having experience with the Haynes manual for my Jag where some details were so far out as to be dangerous, I'd say it's worth checking either with Haynes directly for errata (I believe their web site has a list) or ask at your local dealer for that data. That is, if no-one here can confirm or otherwise.
