My Punto is lowered on FK coilovers, the rear is lowered approx -45mm and the front around 60mm at a guess.

I have 17" wheels (7" wide) with 205/40/17 tyres and they have 10mm hubcentric spacers which brings the offset down to ET32.

When I have people in the back of the car the wheels rub in the rear arches and when I corner hard the front wheels rub in the arches.

I have taken the wheels off to try and see what it is rubbing on and can't find any obvious marks on the wheel arch liners etc.

Will getting my arches rolled stop it from rubbing as I think arch rolling only rolls the inner arch lip and I'm not sure if it's rubbing on this or not?

my fronts sometimes rub if im pushing on hard, and its the arch liner that is the problem. there is a little sticky-out bit at the front of the arches that mine is rubbing on.

usually the done thing is to take out the arch liner i think... (of course you have to turn a blind eye to muck and corrosion getting in, thats the concession to styling i suppose)

Not sure which bit you are talking about without looking but would it be possible to cut this bit off? As I don't particularly want to remove the arch liners completely..

The front rubbing doesn't really bother me that much as it only rubs when I'm cornering really hard, it's the rear rubbing that annoys me...

didnt u ask this on puntomk2 aswell?

Yeah... I posted on both forums because there are some members that only post on FF and vice versa.

Its more than likely that your wheels are rubbing on the lip on the rear quarters, have them rolled and it should solve the problem without having to remove or cut anything.

the rears could be rubbing on the bumper as when the car gets lower the wheels move towards the back of the car

That's a good point, will have a look at the bumper and see if there's any signs of rubbing on it. If there's not then it must be rubbing on the inner arch lip so I will get that rolled and hopefully the problem will be solved. (y)

my fronts rub the liners on full lock et40+3mm spacers = et37

Try getting bigger spacers (5mm or 8mm?) as with ET32 I get no rubbing when on full lock and my car is lower than yours.

when i had 17's on my rear, standard suspension, 3 people in the back it rubbed on the rear bumper.

So did mine when going over speed bumps but was fine in normal driving. I obviously go over speed bumps a lot slower now that it's lower.

The rear is more than likely rubbing on the back bumper. My GT is lowered 60mm all round and had that problem. I just pulled the back bumper away from the body a bit.
The front i reckon is rubbing on the arches. You wont see any marks because rubber wont damage metal, lol.

we had a mitsubishi evo 8 at work once, it was rubbing like b**** coz of the customers new wheels. what we did was grind the 10cm lip instead of rolling them. it seemed to look tidy and really took it down to the last mm.also you have to bear in mind that the quarter pannels may need a "blow in"(paint blended in) or a full quater respray.
