I have been thinking of getting a square front plate for my Punto MK2 A, it will just sit in the same place as my old one. Change the look abit. What you all think?

would certainly look different, im not sure whether or not it would suit the look of the mk2 however
theres someone on here whos got a square no plate on a sprint blue punto mk2, think its a hgt.
I think the front bumper on a mk2 is perfect for normal, rectangular plate.
IMO a square one would make it look tall from the front, it'd just knock it all out of proportion.

thanks for the help everyone, it's only costing me £6.50 so i don't mind seeing how it looks, can always take it back off 
Does anyone have a link to a pic of one on a punto then? I originally wanted the import look with it on the front right but the way the bumper is it would look terrible

it may look good theres no harm in trying, the things you have to bear in mind is covering the old screw holes and the number plate recess, you could try using the old numberplate and cutting it down? maybe german plates(metal pressed(dubmeister.com))?? post some pictures up when you have done it coz it mite give that import look what else is good is that from your picure of your punto it looks low?and wide alloys? so having this plate will blend in and will not make your car look like it is sitting on 20 inch bike wheels!
i actually quite like that, really didnt think it would suit the wide mouth...

i was looking at getting a motorbike sized one, slightly smaller. but woulda looked weird i think.
and i still want it to be legal-ish (yes i know about the address of maker)
and yeah, the car is black. ironically, numberplate could stand for Tinted Black Car
lol. i think my colour coded rub strips also make a bit of different, keeping the grey plastic more central rather than sticking out, helping the numberplate being square.

Yeah i like this alot, what did you over up the screw holes with?
dont like import plates on my MR2's let alone on UK cars which are supposed to have normal plates
Think i prefer the normal plate but it doesnt look as bad as i thought it might do, as long as your happy with it then thats all that matters really

Im not keen on square plates on Mk2 Punto's.
I think cutting down a standard rectangular plate so that it was a little shorter would look better.

sounds good exept wouldn't that be illegal then? I think i'm gunna go get the square plate now. It's cool if people ain't into it, i'm really into import look cars.
