I'm new to this forum having just bought a 2001 1.2 Fiat Punto, unfortunately it came with only a single blue key, I need a spare for obvious reasons.

I have read quite a few articles in this forum going back several years which mention links and contacts to companies and people who can copy/clone these keys. I, myself have actually contacted these companies but they say that they cannot copy/clone a duplicate from a blue key.

Has anybody actually managed to do this to enable a fully operational spare key that will operate not only the doors but will operate the engine, without playing around and messing about with the ECU.

Yes it is possible, but from fiat. The key itself is about £50 and the its around £40 to programme it. Takes about half an hour and you will need to take proof of ownership of the car and ID. I just got a remote key for one of my fiats and it cost me £100 total.
