hi. just joined the fiat forum becuase recently bought a mk1 punto 85 sx. i just had two new tyres and a new clutch put in which cost me a bit which was rather annoying as i have only owned it a month tops (n) . I spoke to the mechanic and he said he was goin to put some silver viper stripes down the middle! glad he didnt becuase wasnt sure if i would have liked it. my car is maroon in colour but do you think stripes would look ok? im not sure  . main thing i really want to do is get a decent set of alloys. any recommendations? :)

first things first, never ever and i mean never put viper stripes e.g. go faster stripes on your car, people will just look and laugh and ur car will just look silly. if ur looking to modify ur car, youll have to realise the money ur going tohave to put into it. if u want alloys get down to your local halfords or have a look around on the net its always best to search around when buying things cos you will be glad you did in the end. over the time ive been modifiying cars and creating bodykits ive always learnt always start from the outside then work your way to the inside of the car. if you start doing both u might do something on the outside of the car but the thing you done on the inside of the car does not match. you have a few choises while moddifing 2 of them are a sutle style , something thats smart and looks good. or agressive which is like jap style which is usually in your face to get ur attention. never stick rubbish stickers or anything on the car. itll just make it look chavy and ugly. anyways thats all i can be bothered to write, hopefully my advise should help you on the way to kitting up your car.

I agree...viper stripes are a mistake definitely. As for alloys I'd personally go for some multispoke wheel....like OZ Superturismo GT's for example.
The 'Jap style' doesn't really suit the Punto too well...it's a euro car, not a jap one and big bodykits don't go with the lines of the car too well. Subtle works much better swapping the little things like headlights, rear clusters, side repeaters and alloys can make the car look neat and tidy rather than lairy and gash.

the jap style is a bit ridiculous for a punto imo (its italian :bang: )
if you want a bodykit, most of them look good, but again, imo, the abarth kit is the nicest of them all. it manages to look fast, yet fairly subtle. well, its italian, so it would look good, wouldnt it? :p

gotta agree with the above.

first thing on the agenda is your budget. this will determine how far down the modding line your gonna go.

i don't want my car to look over powering and over modded so i'm selective over what i'm going to fit.

a key tip is that its not always what you fit it can be what you take off that counts ;)

good luck
