Hi, I think I broke a rear window handle of my Punto Evo. I think the "gear teeth" inside are worn out. What do you think? When I try attaching the handle, it just turns in any direction and doesn't do anything to the window... Please see the attached photo.

I tought so... I was thinkng maybe I'm not pushing the handle hard enough into the door (but I didn't want to break anything else). Also, what is that metal bracket about? Haven't tried anything with it. I guess I'll be looking for a used handle... Or maybe just let it be since I'm never opening the rear windows anyway. Thank you. :)

The metal wire..
Also known as an 'Omega clip'

Is what keeps the handle fixed to the splined shaft ;)

Idea:

Use pliers to remove the wire clip..
Then push the handle onto the shaft..

Does it grip now ?

Tried it, it doesn't grip. So the handle is the culprit. I was able to open and close the window with pliers rotating the metal shaft. I guess I'll just put a pair of pliers in the car in case the window would ever open by itself and not look for a new handle since I don't need it. The handle should stay in the door since it's held on by the omega clip. Thanks.

Yeah, but if that won't work I'll create a mess... I want the shaft exposed and clean if I'll need to wind up the window with pliers. And I think the handle won't fall off if it's clipped with the omega clip. I'll just let it be. But thanx!
