Hi guys,
I recently bought a 2011 fiat punto evo sporting, it has a 1.4L Petrol engine which brings me onto my next point. Even when I don't drive it harshly ( shifting at 2500 rpm or so), my fuel seems to deplete very quickly.

I would say in about 22 miles of driving it goes down by about a notch ( there are 8 notches on the fuel gauge) to a notch and a half. There doesn't seem to be any leaks from under the car whenever I check.

It's especially a concern when the car is advertised as having the following mpg:
38.7= urban
61.4 = extra urban
50.4 = combined

I am clearly getting nothing of the sorts!
Any advice or idea what might be wrong?

Car has 72000 miles.

Have you actually worked out how much fuel you are using MPG-wise ?

Usual way is to fill the tank reset the trip computer then see how much fuel you put in next time to fill the tank again and compare it to the miles covered ?

Try using the "Fuelly" webpage to track it.
