I am having an annoying problem with my new punto evo sporting.

The fitment of the boot vs. rear bumper appears to be poor.

As you can see over the years the boot has been hitting the bumper when opening and closing. This has caused the paint on the corner to chip and little mark on the bumper. I have cleaned out the chip (it was down the metal btw) and repainted

However obviously this problem is going to resurface.

I've tried to adjusting the bumper so it pulls more to the right - removed top screw in arch bottom screws and 2x at the sides of boot but it doesn't seem to want to move and doesn't seem any adjustment.

I adjusted the little black stopper to pretty much the max length I could go without it falling out.

Finally I moved the boot lock striker to the left- this seems to have solved the problem at the moment but now I am left with quite a noticable difference in panel gap between left and right.

I am thinking of just getting some of that vinyl door protector and be done with it but can anyone think of any adjustments that I haven't tried or suggest an easier way to move the bumper to the right?

Has the car been accident damaged at all?

Looks to me like a dodgy repair. Either that or something's moved, as it catching.

Mine OTTOMH has a fair gap between the two, maybe 5-7mm.

looks as if the bumper is out of line, might be worth removing it completely, inspecting the hanger brackets to see if they are bent slightly, I doesn't take much, you can bend them without marking the paint on the bumper (ask my missus:D)
I doubt it would take much to put it back on straight.
