Hi guys I was hoping someone on here may of resolved this fault or know how to. I have a 2010 punto evo active. Alls being well until today my front wipers worked fine on the way the shop, then when I left the shop and started the car the wipers didn't kick back in as they are suppose to. I twisted the stalk and just herd the motor click but wipers didn't move. Then I drove for about 500 yards (struggling to see) then they just started working again. Now they've stopped once again I haven't got a clue what it could be N I can't see

Help would be appreciated thanks guys

I had the same problem on a Grande Punto of the same production year - my best guess (the problem with mine) was the wiper motor. They seem to have a habit of conking out when they're three years old it seems.

The clicking you can hear is the relay engaging, so that won't be the problem. I had trouble telling the guys at the garage the problem, as when they tested the wipers, they worked fine.

I had mine replaced under warranty in January, so you might get in under warranty if you're quick. Good luck!

You got your wipers working properly mate? :D

Well funny story, had a quote for a new motor £90 :0. So I went my local scrappies n asked em if the had any. They didn't but he said hed have a look as the grande had the same problem. He lifted the bonnet n literally just hit it with a hammer, n they started working. So I took my wipers of in my drive took all the linkage off and opened the motor, and it looked like it had run out of grease. So I greased it up put it back together sprayed some wd40 on the linkage and so far so good.

So hope this helps anyone who has the same problem.

Hit the motor with a hammer before shelling out on a new motor.

Nothing beats fixing something with a hammer :D
