hmm, wouldnt of said so.... But, my S&S has been on vacation for about 3 weeks now, not heard or seen anything of it :/ cant say im worried though lol good riddence! :D

Hmm, yeah i tried using my start stop today, no air con, lights off, 9c temperature on the dash, engine was deffo warmed up, no sign of life from it at all

Trying to think back to when i last used it, was a good few weeks ago where it crapped up & turned off the engine and beeped saying S&S unavailable, resulting in me having to turn the engine off & back on...

No sign of it since, i'm thinking its died on me!

Not sure weather i should be asking dealership about it or if i should be happy about it :/

Thanks for the replys guys. To be honest I think its more hastle than its worth, seems to work very seldom. I took it into the dealer before christmas as it never seemed to work and they told me it was because I never wore my seat belt . That might be fine if I didn't but I ALWAYS wear it. According to their diagnostic computer there were something like 500 + recorded journeys with no seatbelt worn. That kinda worried me incase some sensor was not reading properly. I would hate to have a smash and the airbag doesn't go off cause it thinks the seatbelt is no being used or something. But he later said something along the lines of there are so many parameters that can cause it not to work that its a miracle it works at all.

I guess now is not the time to mention about the urgent safety recall some punto evo drivers will have had regarding the non deployment of airbags (I kid you not, this actually got sent out cause I got the letter)

Airbag is a quick fix though, only a software update :)

I tested my S&S today, no sign of it at all... even reversing usually came up with "S&S Unavailable" in the past, now...nothing.

I'm pleased to be without it, but i've booked it in with the dealership just incase theres a bigger problem + for resale value.

My start stop works everytime all the time. It's excellent. Obviously because you guys are horrible about your start stop it's developed a complex and decided not to work for you :D

Mines my Bessie mate and it's never once let me down that I can remember

lol, i just know im going to be told off for letting the car idle all the time refusing to let the S&S kick in.

God knows how your happy with yours its annoying >< seems the power delivery after startup varys, and the speed of start up fluctuates (only in small numbers, but its impossible to learn when its going to be there without looking at the rev counter), and sometimes it decides it'll turn off the engine and refuse to turn it back on!

:bang: maybe mines been broken from day 1 and they'll fix it tomorrow, but i dunno its been in the dealership soooo many times on there computer etc im sure something would of flagged up.

Well i'm back from dealership, S&S started working for the first time in weeks on the way there (typical!!) but they checked it all out anyway.

and they've given me a print out of all the reasons my S&S has been disabled, seems the most obvious one is "Battery Charge Below Threshold 993."

Driver's Seat Belt not fastened: 324.
I always drive with my seat belt fastened, so i'd guess its normal reading if you use your car regularly. (Mine doesn't get much use, hence the battery charge!)

Also for future reference, Reasons S&S disables itself (according to this printout)...

Climate Control
Outside Temp below threshold
Outside Temp above threshold
Battery charge below threshold
Drivers seat belt not fastened
Alternator not charged
Bonnet Switch
Heated rear widow
Windscreen wipers high speed for 5 sec
Battery sensor (IBS)
Driver's door open
Battery efficiency below threshold
Semi-automatic Parking Node (SPM)
Battery temper too low
Battery voltage insufficent for start up
Voltage stabilizer faulty
A/C manual climante control request
Low consumption supply mode (Low fuel)
S&S NBC relay faulty

Well with those odds it looks like we’ve probably got more chance of winning the Lottery than the “Start Stop” functioning! :ROFLMAO:
