Re: Fuming!

You could always contact another Fiat dealership and enquire as to whether there are any Sportings already on their system and ready to purchase.
You may even have been able to source a pre-reg one with a bit hunting, you’ll normally get a very good deal on them. Arnold Clark advertise delivery mileage pre-reg Sporting Evo's for £13500 on their website.

Re: Fuming!

Thanks TJ07 will look into it, Spoke with FIAT UK again tonight and going to put me in touch in the Marleybone sales manager and advise on incoming or un-registered Evos and see if we can do anything on that front. As no promises seem to be able to made on the £2000 contribution I was told it may be extending, improved or removed so its to hoping its extending or improved as that is whats holding the balance for myself.
So have to wait for details on the scheme tomorrow as to whether it will be honoured, Very poor if not otherwise im having to make a decision on one on the basis Fiat havent processed my ordered as intended

Re: Fuming!

In fairness... they say it can take between 8-12 weeks to deliver.

I ordered mine on the 28th June 2010, i called them on the 1st September and was told they are getting it delivered the last week in september (which is within the 12 weeks)

I am abit worried about them being able to get rid of their £2000 contribution though if its after the 30.09.10., going to phone them tommorow and see what they say.

Re: Fuming!

Anyone worried about the £2000 deposit contribution and whether it can be taken away if you've already signed the agreement before the 30/09/10 ought to really contact someone independant like CAB or Consumer Direct. Speaking to a Fiat dealer or salesman is a complete waste of time as even though some are genuine, most are just out to make money. You need to speak to someone independant and stop going round the houses getting one-sided advice.

With regard to the build times, they are quite long but it does seem to be the norm. A mate ordered a new Golf GTI in July and was quoted up to 16 weeks wait before it was delivered to him, which makes the Punto Evo delivery look quite quick. Saying it's a popular car would get the response 'bol*ocks' from me though, i've seen a handful at most, and they were all rental cars.

If anyone has paid a deposit and the dealers or Fiat have cocked up on the order process, don't be walking away without getting your money back. Fiat need to learn the hard way that the behaviour demonstrated in some of the posts in this thread is simply not on. However it would seem that most of the blame lies at the door of sh*tty dealerships in this instance.

Whilst it's admirable that they shut down for a month in August, it's absurd to think any profit making company can get away with it. They should do more production in places like Poland. Maybe Puntos would actually be built half decently then too.

Re: Fuming!

Thanks Liam, Ive got a few more calls to make. Two things ive certainly noticed is as of yet ive to hear anyone apologise and the other Fiat blaming the dealer and vice versa no-one seems to admit or indicate which is at fault in my case just alot of blaming.
I find it very poor ive been awaiting information for a delivery date for 9weeks with the dealer saying "we expect information through on Friday" yet i call Fiat UK myself do a few hours of calling around and have a delivery date at the end of the day.
Will be as TJ suggested calling a few dealers and seeing if any are ready to go, Went to Peugeot last night to get some figures on a car on the forecourt also explained my situation in which they advised they have no grounds to not release my deposit as you say

Re: Fuming!

Im still waiting for my phone call i was ment to recieve 3 days ago! I have given them till next monday if i have heard nothing then they can shove their car where the sun dont shine i've had enough!

I dont get it, why is your car taking so long when people who order before you got their on 1st of september and people who order the same day as mine got theirs!??

Re: Fuming!

Ive honestly not a clue and all this call around which quite frankly the dealer should be doing, Is really annoying me... If i can get this information surely so can they.
I have chased up looking for an alternative Punto Evo Sporting via Fiat Marleybone that fallen short and only have GPs, Awaiting a callback from Fiat Financial Services as they go to lunch 12-2PM which again seems ridiculous surely their lunches should be staggered?
Will be calling Arnold Clark later today, Hearing good things from Peugeot their happy to match Fiat deposit, knock money off list price and offer two free options of my choice... (maybe the nail in the coffin for Fiat)
Thing is End of October does relate as 16weeks which im told a "scratch build" does take, As to why my dealer isnt aware of this and quoted completely different timescales i dont think i will ever know.
Surprisingly my dealer still hasnt returned any calls, Yet Fiat seem to be doing all they can to help today... Showing the weak link

Some Fiat Dealers are beyond a joke! Although to be fair nowadays a lot of car dealerships are whether it be the sales department or the aftersales.
Unfortunately the worst dealership (AND CAR) I experienced was a Peugeot!
Couple of friends have also had bad experiences with Peugeot, that was about 5 years ago though so maybe they’ve picked up their game since.

I called my fiat dealer and they say my car is still showing up as fixed to build or sumin, but he said he has been promised ALL punto Evo's to be delivered to him by 30th september because of the £2000 contribution he says the system will update 2morro so he promises to ring me 2morro..so i'll be calling him on saturday lol, Im very tempted to ring the Southend branch tho and ask them how long their expected delivery of them are!

Re: Fuming!

I have to say that the treatment many of you seem to be getting from the dealerships is pretty shocking and I'm thankfull that I've had very little to do with them other than an initial test drive (which of course they are very happy to arrange!!)

I ordered mine through a business lease scheme 24th June, delivered 7th Sept so about 11 weeks but includes the 4-wk shutdown of course. I had ONE email to arrange delivery and this was arranged for 1 week earlier than the original expected delivery date. Delivery was on date, on time no complications (y) Was I just lucky?? I think every private customer deserves this kind of service too!!!!

BTW I heard at work today that we have 15 Evos arriving over the next 2 weeks so sorry if the corporate world is adding to everyone elses delay

Hehe, i had that phone call from the after sales a couple of weeks later to check up on the car & service etc.

Poor woman didn't know what to say when i told her if she looked outside the window she'd probably see my car is parked outside the window waiting for repairs. :p

Re: Fuming!

Dealer has just rang me my car is now at code 20 at Last!!!!!:):), any idea how long from code 20 to delivery in UK. May be someone has kicked as in Italy about poor delivery times to UK. Am I still looking at October delivery?

Paul

Re: Fuming!

nothing i did, just the knee cubby hole / satnav / blue&me weren't working properly so took it back, unfortunatel i think mine was the first Evo on FF so i've had the joys of discovering the problems first hand, first 4 months of it was back & forth to the dealership.

All's fine now though (y) brilliant car.

Did they not give you an estimated delivery? I was told by my Fiat dealer that the factory has top get all the Punto Evo's to the dealers by 30th of September because of the £2000 contribution deal so i would have thought yours would be the same! If it's built i would have thought you'd be looking at end of september.
I am still waiting for my phone that i know isn't going to happen!! I've had enough of chasing it up.

Re: Fuming!

I hope not I've been told the £2000 will be honoured because of the uproar caused, I ordered because if this offer and expect nothing less! I'm still chasing this as a written guarantee as my car won't be ready

Re: Fuming!

should have used the chadwell heath branch, the chelmsford ones are still learning,

I went into the Chelmsford dealership 3 weeks ago and the Sales man in there was a complete idiot, he was seriously un-helpful! He told me there was no way on earth I'd be able to test drive a Punto Evo Sporting before ordering one as they were really hard to get hold off he said no dealership would have one to drive, told me there would be at least a 12 week wait and that if I wanted to do the £2000 contribution I best put my order in ASAP as he didn't know how long they were going to be doing that offer for. I also wanted a brochure or something to take back and look at and they didn't have anything at all.

I ended up giving the dealership in Colchester a call Monday morning to see if they would be a bit more helpful. They had a car I could test drive, so I went down after work took the car out for a spin and in a few days put my order in for a 'Progressive Black' Evo Sporting. *Touch Wood* the car is due for delivery end Sept/ start Oct. He did give me a call this week to say that they still intend to meet that date.

So the chelmsford dealership gets the (n)(n)(n)(n) from me.
