Hi all. First post here so please bear with me!

My newly acquired 100hp has an odd and intermittent steering problem.
On some journeys, the wheel self-centres 30-45 degrees to the left and wants to steer in that direction. On other journeys on the same roads it is absolutely fine.
There is no warning light appearing on the dash. Tyres are fine in terms of wear and pressure, alignment has been done recently.

I recently bought a cheap ELM327 clone Bluetooth scanner and the Torque app and this is not pulling up any codes - in fact Im not 100% sure this is working correctly anyway, but I'll save that for another thread!

I think your Torque app can only read engine related codes.
Pretty sure MES will show C1002 or similar code and suspect torquesensor.
A few years ago I changed mine and wrote a short how-to.
Use search to find it.

You need a registered copy of www.multiecuscan.net and set of OBD cables. Get them from MES as many on eBay don't do the job properly.

As already said it sounds like you need a new torque sensor ring.

I'm going to fit a new torque/position sensor. Looking at the Autodoc website, I am a little confused as to which I will need. Mine is a non-ESP model
Can anyone identify which part I need?

Also, how do you go about recalibrating?

How would anyone know.? You will have to call the suppliers for advice.

Check the colour of the loom. Mine was green IIRC.

Hi.
You have to use mes ( multiecuscan) to calibrate.
I have had some trouble with rhe steering wheel red light to come on almost every day.
Cleaned the big connector wire socket going in to the power steering.
No red light since.
