It will probably only appeal to anybody on here from Northern Ireland, but if you're an FF member and looking for a cheap high mileage Panda 169, mines got a hell of a lot of new parts put in over the past 3.5 years. In fact, the full extent of which can be traced on here!

After 15 years.. we are replacing our 2004 Active.

Not sure what to do with it..

Been great.. had general upkeep.

Plenty of my GUIDES.. ;)

Body is still original..and straight.

Seems a shame to scrap it.

No MILs. No rust. Mega trustworthy..

Done 97k now.

Our MJ's just turned 150K at 12 year old and we're faced with a similar problem - how long to keep on running it :)
Zero problems at the moment, starts and drives well and about 9 months MOT left. It needed some welding on rear of o/s sill for test so rust might be the major consideration, but sudden disasters excluded, we've got 9 months to think about it!

You'll need to get the inside of the sill fully wax treated as the welded (now bare) thin metal will rust into holes very quickly.

I had a crash damaged VW insurance repaired. Just two years later the sill paint was looking rough. You bet it was rough there was rust coming through from inside!!!

Thankfully, the repair warranty still applied so it was taken back and done again - properly but it had been a horrible mess inside.

Yes, the sill was sprayed with waxoyl - a few holes drilled through the sill steps for access. :)
I was surprised it was holed ( a rusty scab was there for a few months previous) as the rest of the car is rust free. It was soon sorted as my son has a bodyshop business - my old trade!
Inner sill and reinforcements still clean and sound, the rust had only eaten through the outer sill.

I noticed the later Pandas have a rear wheel arch liner which extends lower down the inner arch/rear of sill, covering the welded seam. There is a very small drain hole under the bottom rear corner of the sill, so maybe water is splashed into the seam between the sill and inner arch.
