Yesterday when I changed the top mounts, I had a look at an area with a bit of rust inside the engine bay.

With the wheel off I checked the other side only to find a small area absoultly packed with dirt. It has drain holes but these must have been blocked for years.

Check out the amount of crap I scraped out before the drain holes became visible again! Could have planted a few seeds in there.

Yeah, noticed this a couple of years ago so I stick the pressure washer in there a couple of times a year.

If mine rusts there, it'll just match the wheel arches at the rear. #Losing the will...

What about a cover fixed with heavy duty sticky back velcro? Is that even possible - just an idea.

Stick the velcro on then fill the well with high melting point grease. Even if it does get filled with grit, the grease will protect the body metal.
