Just modded one of those tiny blue crappy ELM327 BT units for the panda and MES as I need to send my CanTieCar unit back for a BT issue. Didnt want to use adapter leads,,
Heres what you need to do - you will get all ECU's on registered version apart from Airbag.. Will work with almost any ELM327 unit...
Warning - dont attempt unless you are reasonably competent with a soldering iron..
First, find the resistor that most of the chinese crap adapters have between pins 6 and 14 (it is 120 Ohms usually) - remove it.. (Crunch it)
Now solder new leads from pin 7 to pin 1 and 9.
There ya go..
Plug and prey..
The one I modded was the tiny BT unit with clear blue plastic, I would not recommend that one unless you have a very good magnifying glass, the resistor is in the middle of the board and VERY difficult to get to, the soldering is also a nightmare..
The other units (larger ones) are much easier.
This will give you the equivalent of 327 and 327 with green lead.
No swapping or changing.
