I have searched through threads and can't find same problem so would appreciate some advice.
A few weeks ago I had a telematics box fitted by Cortex as 17 year old is driving my car. Since then (not immediately after) I have turned my engine on and dashboard has lit up for initial check but instead of all lights going off, engine, battery and oil light stay on until I crank engine. They all go off and car starts/drives fine. Also my temp gauge needle rises from cold to hot and red light goes on (even when engine cold), sometimes when turn key and sometimes when I crank engine. Then after a few seconds needle goes back down and is normal during drive.
I talked to friend who is a mechanic and he said could be telematics box or ECU problem? When I phoned Cortex engineer, he said those lights as well as handbrake light always stay on in every car and basically laughed at me saying it had never happened during the previous 3 years of owning my car!
Could it be the box and shall I get him to look at it before I go to garage? I put this question on yahoo and people said it they go off during driving not to worry but I don't want my daughter driving a car with electrical problems!
Thanks for any help.
