Hey all

after looking round various other threads i have found out the following -

Front door speakers - can accept 17cm door speaks (adapters needed!) with a max mounting depth of 61mm. Not sure if this includes the adapter or not?

Rear door speakers - can accept 13cm door speakers (adapters needed). not sure on maximum mounting depth...assume its same as front, 61mm?

does anyone have confirmation on this? Ive upgraded the HU due to not having aux / mp3 compatibility, need to do the speakers next!

Hey, have a look at what I did with my speakers. Might help you out.

Update.

Swapped front door stock speakers for JBL's GTO 628. Came across a thread here on how to set up EQ which improved the sound but made my doors rattle...

. So got new speakers of good old e-bay. Thought I'll need an adapter to fit them but ended up cutting stock speakers out and using frame as an adapter for JBL's.

Stocks, back is 8" top is 6"

JBL's are 6.5" and fitted nicely over. I made up a lead and plugged JBL's to the frame so I can just plug stock speaker plugs right in

Sound proofed both doors at the front, 3 strips to cover outer skin (strips so I ca get them trough holes in the door frame). Them 1 sheet over the door frame.

I used sticky soft strip between speaker and the adapter btw. So nothing will rattle.

Yeah and I cut old speakers out from the adapter.

Hope this helps

I know, it's eight years later.
I have a 2011 Panda that I bought in 2012. At that time, I decided to go to a car audio shop and upgrade the front speakers with JBL components. The car audio shop asked me if I wanted to upgrade the mounting. I agreed. You know what they did? They removed the OEM speakers (and adapters), and mounted the JBL woofers to pieces of wood and mounted them onto the door metal. Some f---in' upgrade...
Do the doors, panels, and so on rattle? You bet.
So, after all this time, I'm thinking about resolving that issue, and also possibly upgrading the rear speakers.
The front JBLs and rear OEMs themselves seem to be in perfect working order - although in the winter the JBL tweeters cut out. A few years back, I thought I had shorts in their wiring fixed, but the issue since returned.
So, I no longer have the front OEM speakers / adapters. It looks like I can buy them off eBay or elsewhere.
I like what you did, Demi, so maybe I'll adapt that to my speaker setup; that is, with satellite tweeters instead of two-ways.
Any thoughts on either the front or rear speakers would be appreciated.

Hi. Just wanted to clarify the sizes of the OEM speakers and what size they will be able to take. I’ve got 6.5” Pioneers i’m looking to fit all round. If i’m not mistaken in what i read the rears are 8” and front 6” OEM?

At least some were fitted with

6 1/2" front
5 1/4" rear

But others have

6 1/2" both front and rear

I have no idea what the maximum size that fits

Or if the same size was fitted with the optional upgrade 6x speaker and sub-woofer system

Both @NigelO and @atakan123123 have been inside the doors recently

And

Has been successfully fitted by @NigelO

I measured my recently bought adapters. Both front and rear doors can accept 6.5". An 8" could possibly be made to fit in the front doors, but would have to sit closer to the door metal if there is not sufficient space behind the door cards (I presume the front adapters are coned inwards for a reason).

Front adapters:
- Outer diameter of speaker mounting flange: 163 mm
- Inner diameter/speaker cutout: 145 mm
- Screw mount diameter: 155 mm
- adapter height: 37 mm
- outer diameter of door mounting flange: 218 mm
- inner diameter of door mounting flange: 195 mm

Rear adapters:
- Outer diameter of speaker mounting flange: 163 mm
- Inner diameter/speaker cutout: 145 mm
- Screw mount diameter: 155 mm
- adapter height: 20 mm
- outer diameter of door mounting flange: 173 mm
- inner diameter of door mounting flange: 167 mm
