Hi

I'm looking for a new engine for my fiat Panda. It's an 1108 active on an 04 plate which I believe has the 187A1000 engine. A breakers yard near me has a Seicento with the same engine. Does anyone know if it will fit without any problems?

Regards

Simon

Not sure if they are both in the same emissions band
the earlier Seicentos with 1108 engines were single point injection, the later multi point. not sure if there was any physical differences between the 2 (apart from the injection) or if they would mate up to Panda technology, but if your buying the lot your perhaps best off stearing clear of the single point. - Ask in the Seicento section, but My Mrs's previous 99 sei was SPI, and her 51 plate is MPI.

A fair few Seicento people replaced the 1108 with 1242 8 valve fire engine for the extra torque. Think there are plenty around from dead Puntos ;) Some went on to Turbocharge their 1242 Seicentos…

Check your thread in the classic forum, i replied there. It'll fit no probs, hook it up to your loom and ecu, i think it'll be fine.. but it might have different regs, MPI sei might be the same.. pretty sure both are euro reg 3, im unsure if there are any differences. The engine code you posted does sound right, though

Thanks for the info guys, both have MPI so should be okay there. The original engine had head gasket failure and warped the head so it was going to be an expensive repair plus the car had done 105k. I've got this engine for £160 with all ancillaries 57k guaranteed for 2 months and delivered to my door so it looks like the right thing to do!!

Thanks again

Simon
