Hi, got my new Panda, 1.2 Eco Active and it seems the drivers window doesnt have the same multi-open/closed positons as the passenger one, in my old Punto they were both multi-position, is this some new safety thingy or is it broken

You still have the ability to stop the driver's window anywhere you want, it just works a bit differently. Press & release the button & the window will go all the way down, but if you press it again as it is moving it'll stop immediately in the position it's reached. Nothing to do with safety, it's done for convenience as it assumes most of the time you'll want the window either fully open or fully shut. The passenger window works differently & you need to keep your finger on the button all the way up or down - and that is for safety reasons.

BTW, the 500 is slightly different in that the passenger window will go all the way down with a push & release, but needs the button held continuously to raise it - again for safety.

safety thing

No, it's for convenience as most of the time you want the window either fully open or fully closed. If it were done for safety then the window would move only when the button were actually being pressed.

Please don't assume the Panda is exactly the same as the 500 - there are a few detail differences, and the way the electric windows work is one of them.

Thanks you all who replied...im going to try it out tomorrow, guess i just thought it would work like my old car !

Sorry I just assumed that they operated the same :)

No problem:):)

It's handy having one of each, but sometimes I have to think which one I'm driving - this afternoon I had a brief moment of concern when the Panda's engine failed to stop when I pulled up at the lights! I also got a very strange look once when waving to a 500 driver, forgetting I was in the Panda at the time:confused::confused::confused:.

The most serious point of difference I've found so far is that the Panda has an intermediate sidelight position on the otherwise similar headlamp switch, making it all too easy to drive the Panda at dusk with the sidelights selected instead of the headlights.

Tried the drivers window and it works just like you said, thanks (y)
