Hi all, thinking of buying a tunining box from TMC. I have read some good feedback on them, just wondering if anyone has fitted one to a Panda multijet and what experience has been from fitting one.(y)

They come highly recommended by myself, and many others. Had my Abarth 500 tuned in July. Easy to install, plug and play that doesn't push the limits of any components like some tuning companies do. Instant power! Any questions or queries, you'll get an almost instant reply so they will do anything to help you. I'd say go for it, and if you're still not happy he will refund you the money after 30 days in most cases (y)

I've just fitted a tuning box from dynamicdiesels.co.uk ( a Christmas present :) ) and with it's standard settings performance is noticeable better. Took about ten minutes to fit.

As economy in my opinion has never been brilliant on my MJ (55ish winter, 60 summer, driven lightly) I'll be interested to see what effect the tuning box has. It was bought with the intention of boosting economy rather than performance, so I'll report back in due course if it's a good or bad result with the same driving style.

If these cars are being fitted with DPF's you could get quite a bit of grief from running a box. The majority of these boxes only alter fueling resulting in more unburnt fuel resulting in black smoke, and therefore a blocked DPF...

Not sure what a DPF is, but I have read that some boxes just increase fuel and are not very good. On what I have read about the TMC boxes they seem to be a good product with no bad feedback. I will be posting back with my findings.:)

Tuning box arrived this morning, took about 20 minutes to fit and clip into place, have only been out on a short trip but I did notice an increase in power, the engine seems smoother as well. So up to now really pleased with the box and would recommend it.(y)

Just a quick update re my earlier post and mpg:
Done just over 500 mile since fitting the tuning box, and mpg has improved by about 3mpg even though the weather has been freezing :) (using onboard computer)

Obviously I'm resisting the temptation to utilize the extra oomph!

Now wheres the fun in that :p

It's actually quite tempting as the torque at lowish revs is obviously much improved :)

It reminds me of early days when we first got the MJ - it was a source of great smugness when larger cars used to prepare to overtake on hills, then rather awkwardly scream past at high revs when they realised the little Panda had a bit more hill-climbing power than it looked :D
