General Panda 4x4 Police car

Spotted on the m42 between junction 3 and 4. On birmingham plates aswell so it seemed to be based around the city.

Good idea. Small, good in all weathers, economical and good visibility.

Not exactly going to be catching many people though other than overweight cyclists who have just robbed a sweet shop!

Didnt see if it was west mids police as i didnt want gawp and cause a crash, everyone was on the charge home and wasnt as interested as i was.

Here's one in colour. Apparently they were called Panda cars because originally they were in black and white but I've only ever seen blue and white ones.

Wonder if it was driving elsewhere? :chin:
The police in the area around Stanhope used a liveried up Micra until recently for rural policing think it was a 1.0 so high speed chases were out of the question. Would make sense as a rural panda car.

It'd be too slow in a straight line I think. But okay as a runabout police car in the same way they use fiesta's etc.

I reckon thats the one, it may have had the camera logo in the rear windows.

If I had known I would have made a good attempt to run it off the road, Panda or not if its lugging a 'safety camera' around it needs to be burnt.

I've seen one like that parked up in the Warwickshire Traffic Police depot on the way home from work a couple of times....

Saw the rails and thought....'Panda!'
