I've just renewed my insurance and have managed to find a cheaper quote than last year despite changing cars to a newer and more expensive model.
OK, now I'm a bit of an oldie at 51, with years of NCB, a low annual mileage and I'm currently classed as retired with no business mileage.
However, for my Panda Cross, I've paid £159 but will get £22.50 back on a cashback scheme. This is through Swiftcover. They keep costs down by being Internet only, with no call centres.
I'm interested in how much you younger guys, especially those with the 100HP, have to pay.
Just out of interest, in 1978, when I was 21, driving a Triumph Herald, I was paying about the same as I do now but for 3rd party, fire and theft cover.

I'm 31 and just renewed my 100hp for £315. 5 years NCB, reasonable area, car left on street, business cover, no voluntary excess and 20k+ miles a year. A bit cheaper than last year and this policy gives me any-driver cover for a select group of people which was something I struggled to find with the majority of policies!

My 56 plate 100hp is £230 - Fully comp with 5yrs NCB, courtesy car, legal protection, £75 windscreen excess, £250 voluntary excess and fully protected (unlimited) no claims. Parked on street, 15K per annum social, domestic and commuting. Born in 1971, living in Surrey. Through Liverpool Victoria.

Cheap as...

ScoobyChris, your any-driver cover intrigues me. Back in the 70s I used to drive my dad's cars which were quite quick, Triumph 2500TC, Granada, etc. but as his company cars were any-driver there was no problem.
These days if my son, who is 19, wants to drive, my premium increases to 10x the present level.
Are teenage lads 10x more dangerous on the road than I was? I don't think so.

ScoobyChris, your any-driver cover intrigues me.

It's a negotiated arrangement through a club I'm a member of with the only restrictions being that any-driver means you have passed a 2 1/2 day driving course and are also over 25. Why there's an age restriction, I'm not sure.

Hopefully the premium will drop again when my other half gets round to taking the course and can be promoted from named driver to unlisted :ROFLMAO:

I'm 21 and I currently pay somewhere in the region of £600 to insure my 100HP, fully comp, 2 years no claims. It's due for renewal around Easter so interested to see how if it will go down by much.

You younguns seem to be paying a modest amount to insure your cars, especially the 100HP, compared to my premiums back in the the 70s.
Good Lord, how I wish I had a motor like the 100HP back then!

1.2 Dynamic 360se on a 57 plate parked on the street in a decent area. Me male, 39yo, 10 years+ protected NCD and one accident in last 3 years. Fully comp cover with one additional named driver, business use, legal protection, no claims protection and £0 policy excess. £175 per annum with Tesco.

I'm 33 and I paid about that for a brand new fiat 500 1.4 last year. First car I've ever had in England so I didn't have a no claims bonus built up. I only got it that cheap because I put the girl on the policy as well and she has something like 6 years no claims bonus. By myself it was touching £1400.

I'll be insuring a Panda 1.2, 2003-2004 model shortly. So far the best quote I can find is £380.

I think I'll wait a month until I've had the 500 for a year (I had a very early delivery, last feb), renew its insurance and see what they can do for me with both cars and 1 years ncb on the 500.

Insurance is a nightmare here.

try bell direct. bonus accelerator policy, 10 mths you get your 1st year ncb. i had the same problem in london with a 1.2 eleganza, war zone post code + 20 years driving company cars i was treated as a new driver at 52.....worst q was over £900, bell came in at 400...

2005 55plate Multijet with 8,000 per year, no business mileage. Fully comp + 9yrs protected, £50 windscreen excess, no excess on other claims, legal cover and courtesy car all for £163! not too bad for a 30yr old.
Mind you best Ive ever had was £75 fully comp for my old Cinq (did manage £99 fully comp on my F plate Panda when I was 21).

Interesting. I'll give them a go. What's the deal with Fiat Forum? Do we have a preferred insurer? Or one we do deals with?

36, license over 10 years, plenty of years NCD, 3 points (sp70, I think), one named driver, parked on street, 10k miles a year, £250 ex, free window, RAC cover.

£220 fully comp.
