I was up visiting my dad and my little panda had to sit out in -4 temperatures, then i woke to this. Poor wee thing, he's used to being in a garage. :)

I tried to get to work this morning... 80mins 7 miles then gave up to rescue the other half who was stuck on a hill in heavy snow.

The F1s are absolutely unbeleiveably bad in cold/snow.

Must Get Winter Tyres... if only the wheels weren't so expensive.

Oh well, two days off so far this week, can't be bad :)

Its not the tyre type that is the issue, it is the fact that the car is quite light and the tyre footprint is large - the weight of the car is spread over too large an area. I've used F1s on heavier cars with no problems in bad weather.

To be honest, i think if it's snow your driving on then as long as you use high gears and keep the revs low, then tyre choice will make a minimal difference.

And it was fun driving in the snow too :)
Just stay off main roads.

Want to do me a special price on 4x14" steel wheels (for 100HP, size as in 100HP handbook for winter tyres)?
:)
Hee hee - see, the 4x4 Panda may be slow, but its 14 inch wheels have 185/65 snow tyres... which for a couple of days per year might make it quicker than the 100hp??;)

(No snow here -- yet -- but just as well as currently have three proper wheels with M&S tyres, and one spacesaver... New tyre to replace puctured one fitted tomorrow morning, so it can snow all it wants then)

The Panda looks great with some snow on it. Shame the Panda isnt sold in Australia. We could have surfboards on ours....:D

I took mine down to Cornwall the other year I was so tempted to borrow one and stick it on the top and take a picture.

Marks and Spencers really are branching out! :p

I've found the f1's to be pretty good in wet conditions, not sure on ice and snow because i don't tend to push it hard in either!
