I've just been looking at possible remaps for my 1.2 Eleganza - £300 brings me only an extra 7BHP and 7NM! That's £42.85 for each BHP!!!!!

Why can they not boost it further without having to resort to a turbo charger?

The multijet can be remapped for the same price and you get 105BHP and 190NM in total! I know it's easier to improve the Multijet because it has a turbo but even so it makes me sad ine can't see similar gains

Headline figures are all well and good, but what the figures don't show you is how the throttle responsiveness and power delivery changes. If you look at a rolling road graph, the bigger the area under the graph, the better the map (ie the map holds the power across more of the rev range).

The main reason why turbo cars can see big gains is because the turbos tend to be operating a fair bit away from their limits and increasing requested boost pressure can see decent gains.

Other options with the 1.2 are fast road cams, and better induction and exhaust, but I'm not sure I'd bother personally ;)

I would only ever consider a remap - I dn't like the chav look/sound ;)

Surley someone on here has actually had there 1.2 Panda remapped,if they have can they post there opinions as to if it is worth getting it done and what improvement to the car if any it made.

Many Thanks

Yeah but 8nm! 5BHP is nothing - 10BHP would be enough to persude me but foe those figures it's not worth the outlay.

Number crunching is the most useless exercise when you want to see performance, but as SccobyChris stated the way things are delivered is what makes tghe difference.

Maybe it occured to some that the peak power is only at one point in the rpm range and does not give ANY indication how well the car performs.

At least the 1.2 can be remapped. If 100HP owners want it we gotta go to Holland :(. Anyone know if they are any closer to cracking the ECU over here? I've got my exhaust and induction, a decent map wouldn't go a miss :yum:
