I know that this has been mentioned before, but if anyone has had this replaced, can you let me know how much you had to pay? (It's when it won't open unless you use the key...). Thanks!
was free under warranty, but....if not could be pricey as the only part actually needing replacing is a tiny microswitch, but as is the way of things, it comes in a larger piece, the black handle itself, which all needs doing, i think they allow about an hour to do the job
I successfully repaired our Multipla's rear boot switch which is very similar to the Panda's. If you remove the tailgate handle you'll find the switch mechanism pops out (its held in by plastic clips). Keep removing bits until you get to the actual micro switch (just keep following the wires!). You'll probably find that the switch is soaking wet (well that's what happened to our Multi), just dry it out with a hair-dryer and test it with a multimeter to make sure it still switches (continuity test) then cover it in Vaseline/Petroleum Jelly to keep the water out.
When refitting check all the rubber gaskets around the switch components (one of them on the Multi had been twisted from the factory which is why the switch got wet in the first place).
