A more positive update this afternoon :D

My car has now reached status 35 (which I'm told means "in transit") so looking good there. :)

The sales manager has finally found a car for me to borrow until mine arrives. :) Not only that they'll be covering it on their insurance too. :)

Still uncertain about the finance though, thanks for highlighting that Scrogg otherwise I never would have checked. Need to see the business manager when I go in this afternoon to collect the courtesy car. :(:confused:

Have to say that since speaking to the sales manager things have moved along very rapidly! Maybe should have escalated the matter much earlier in hindsight.

Off to the garage for the courtesy car and to discuss the finance, will post another update when I get back...
 
Yay :D

Just back from the garage. They've lent me an 08 plate Multipla 1.9MJ, taxed and insured until my car arrives.

The sales manager has confirmed that the 0% finance will still stand and they're now estimating delivery in around 2 weeks.

It's been a long and stressful fight but I think finally things are moving. :):)
 
Check out the 500 forum, the build codes are in the top section. I think 50 is the last one so you are not far off now but I would still wager that the 12 week delivery date will be the realistic target.

What a strange courtesy car to be given, the Panda is going to seem like a sardine tin when you change over!
 
Time for another update.

Spoke to the garage yesterday and the car has arrived in the UK! :D

It is now sitting (in the most horrible weather :() at Portbury dock, about 7 miles away. :)

It should, apparently, be ready for collection in around 10 days or so :):)

I'm not entirely sure how I can wait now I know it's so close but after 9 weeks so far I'm sure another one wont hurt that much...
 
That's great news! I ordered my Panda in the middle of Feb and I've just been told it will be here sometime in the middle of June - approx 16 weeks in total.
I still don't believe it will be here then either. We've had no end of bad communication problems from the dealer- the usual thing, not returning calls, being passed around etc. In the end we had to speak to the MD (told his secretary we needed to discuss some personal business!) at the dealers before we got an answer to the delivery date.
They blame the slow delivery on my colour choice - Samba Orange. I hope I'll like the car when it arrives because I haven't had a Fiat since I was a teenager when I had an unreliable 126!
 
Went to the dealer yesterday on the way to work, and picked my registration. :)

If they can get a gate release from the dock then I should have the car by Friday! :D If not it will likely be Monday.

Starting to forget the stress and feel the excitement again now! (y):slayer:
